Adventures in the snow - picturesque Gries im Sellrain

In the immediate vicinity of our "zur Post" apartments, the Sonnenberg lift in Gries im Sellrain invites the little ones to make their first attempts at skiing. In just a 5-minute walk from the apartments, you can reach the gentle and manageable slope, perfect for experienced or inexperienced skiers. Without long waiting times, the little ones can calmly get a feel for the boards and later whiz down the slopes.

The easy-to-use button lift and the free magic carpet are open daily from mid-December to mid-March from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Nothing stands in the way of Almgaudi for the whole family with lots of fun in the snow. Accompanied by an adult, children up to their 6th birthday have free travel.

In the local ski school, experienced ski instructors are available on request, who will be happy to help newcomers to skiing for the first time. This gives parents time to catch their breath, they can warm up on sunbeds right next to the lift, or stop for a snack in one of the nearby inns.

Ski school and ski courses are only available in Kühtai.

Every Saturday and Tuesday during the Christmas and semester breaks, the piste is brightly lit and offers a night skiing experience from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Tobogganing, skiing or cross-country skiing? That is the question!

The little ones can burn off some energy whizzing down the Sonnberg lift or whiz down the mountain a few meters away on a toboggan, while the grown-ups work up a sweat cross-country skiing. The cross-country ski trail is illuminated daily until 10 p.m. and allows extensive cross-country skiing fun. Winter sports tip: Kühtai!

The Kühtai ski area is only 20 minutes away with the free ski bus from Gries im Sellrain and is worth a trip both in summer and in winter. In the Kühtai ski area at an altitude of 2,020 meters there is snow as far as the eye can see, with guaranteed snow from the beginning of December to the end of April. With the Kühtai-Hochoetz ski pass you can enjoy 2 ski areas with a total length of 88 kilometers and 25 lifts. There is guaranteed no boredom. Night skiing is offered on Wednesdays and Saturdays and at any time of the day, wide slopes and fantastic deep snow slopes allow for a unique skiing experience.
